E
lektroWorX began as a recording studio. It provided MIDI racks and protools, and eventually a sound proof booth. Musicians in need of such resources, eventually needed flyer and shirt design.
Mercuryworks was by this time created as a media design arm of The 233 Project. Through MercuryWorks, ElektroWorX could offer design and typesetting of Album Art, web, stickers, shirts, and posters. When the need for video projections arose, Mercuryworks developed custom motion graphics. With the addition of MIDI and noise, The 233 Project provided a digital skill set that mutated ElektroWorX into a media Monolith. ElektroWorX began creating live electronic art events that provided improvisational music and sound. Live triggered media was developed allowing projections to be synced to live audio. Initailly video was stored using specially crafted DVD architecture to allow better sync options. The ElektroWorX project became a living portfolio of ElektroWorX Studio. ElektroWorX had an intricate html based website designed to mimic the layout and operation of a UNIX mainframe. The promotional DVD for elektroworx mirrored the layout and content of the website. Although it originated as a music studio in south Philadelphia, ElektroWorX services are focused on large private events and national television broadcasts.
ElektroWorX Archives
The ElektrWorX campaign was the first major cultural operation for The 233 Project. Years of experimentation and Psy-Op research were put to pratical use.
The Qabalistic influences of the 233 Project inspired the serpentine sigil of EletroWorX. It was created by taking the Ægyptian symbol for electrum, and bending it along the rose of sigils tracing the words 'Elektro' and 'WorX' , then placed in a five pointed configuration.
While Marz²³³ contributed midi and synth programming, MercuryWorks developed visual stratgies for promotion and live performances. The logo design was a solid foundation for a variety of band related merchandise.
Initially the logo was used to promote the studio and eventually studio related events. Live events created the need for flyers and strong visual presentation.
decal
Stickers were an obvious solution to reaching the music community. these rugged decals were printed on durable vinyl stock
flyers
Flyers featured designs that were often printed on vellum like stock for improved color vibrancy and the translucency created an enhanced sense of depth.
Shirts
The Text based logo was inspired by the Typesetting of Dave McKean and was featured on the front of the ElektroWorX shirts. The back featured a large redition of the sigil logo.
album poster - front
The insert for the full album folded out into a doulble sided poster. One side was made to resemble a UNIX gui. The lyrics were included as text files open in various windows. Actual album cover was depicted as a an image file also open in an OS window. the track listing appeard as mp3's in a playlist.
album poster - back
The back of the of the insert was a composited photoshop mural which suggested a lost planet hosting lost wisdom being decrypted through some sort of visual processing
ep art
The EP of the ElektoWorX project featured a cropped version of the full album art. it was a nested version of the poster to come.
