The above figure presents the color sequence used for 'Coax Mult'. It is dervived from 'resistor code' used for marking Ω value of resistors

This chart outlines the frequencies of visual light and those used to transmit fiber optic signals. Please note: frequencies used for tac12 signals are well outside the range visible to the human eye. The human retina may incur severe IR trauma even though the fiber appears dark. An optical meter is essential for determning the presence of a fiber optic data signal.

FiberScope Visual inspection:

The above image (A) shows a clean surface with minimal artifacts only faintly visible.

This image (B) shows what appears to be sebaceous (skin) oils on the optic surface, easily remedied with a clicker or cleaning pad.

Here (C) we see what is likely adhesive residue or Li/Si Grease. A Dry Pad and solvent may be needed to correct this.

In this final image (D) cracks and scratches are clearly visible. This ferrule will need replaced by a qualified fiber techician.

Taken at 400x magnification, these images show an ST fiber optic connector. The pale grey surface is a 2.5mm white ferrule composed of Zirconia Ceramic. The darker grey dot near the center is the 9µ single mode filament composed of Germanium infused Silica Glass.
